Privacy Policy — Personal Assistant

This policy explains what the CoveCraft Personal Assistant does with your information. It is written to be read, not to be survived. If anything here is unclear, ask us before you sign up.

The short version. The assistant reads the messages you send it, manages your calendar, and keeps your task list. To understand what you write, it sends your messages to Anthropic's Claude service. Your data is stored on a computer we operate in India. We do not sell anything to anyone, and we do not use your data to train AI models. You can ask us to delete all of it at any time.

1. Who we are

2. What the service is

The CoveCraft Personal Assistant is a private assistant you talk to over a messaging app. It can create and change events in your calendar, keep a task list for you, and send you reminders. Each customer gets their own separate instance — your assistant does not share data with anyone else's.

3. What we collect

Anything you forward is included. If you forward someone else's message to your assistant, that message is processed exactly like your own. Please think about that before forwarding things other people would consider private.

What we do not collect

We do not read your other chats. The assistant only sees messages sent directly to it.
We do not access your email, contacts, photos, files or location.
We do not ask for payment card details. Payments, if any, are handled by a payment provider and we never see your card.

4. Why we are allowed to use it

We process your information because you asked us to provide this service and gave your consent when you set it up. You can withdraw that consent at any time by asking us to close your account (see section 8). Withdrawing consent stops the service, because there is no service without it.

5. Who else sees it

We use a small number of other companies to make the assistant work. They only receive what they need, and only to provide their part of the service.

If you prefer, voice notes can be transcribed entirely on our own hardware instead, so the audio never leaves India. Ask us and we will switch it on.

We never sell your data, share it for advertising, or let it be used to train AI models.

6. Where it is stored

Your tasks, settings, message history and access tokens are stored on computers we operate in India. Some of the companies in section 5 process data outside India; by using the service you agree to that transfer, which is necessary for it to work.

7. How long we keep it

Tasks and calendar links — until you delete them or close your account.
Message history — up to 12 months, so the assistant can remember context. Ask us for less and we will set it shorter.
Voice note audio — 30 days, then deleted. The text version is kept with the task it created.
Technical logs — 90 days.
After you close your account — everything is deleted within 30 days, except anything we are legally required to keep.

8. Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us to:

Tell you what data we hold about you and who we have shared it with
Correct anything wrong or incomplete
Delete your data
Nominate someone to exercise these rights if you die or become incapacitated
Raise a complaint about how we have handled your data

Email asinghania@covecraftstudios.com and we will respond within 30 days. You can also revoke the assistant's access to your calendar yourself, at any time, without asking us — at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

9. How we protect it

Each customer's assistant runs separately, with its own credentials. One customer's assistant cannot reach another's data.
The assistant is deliberately limited: it cannot run programs, browse the web, or act in group chats.
Access tokens are stored on our hardware and are not shared.
Actions taken on your behalf are logged so they can be reviewed.

No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your data we will tell you and the Data Protection Board, as the law requires.

10. Children

This service is not for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

11. Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you on the number your assistant runs on before it takes effect.
